Peterson Law and Whiteford Taylor & Preston Retained by Family Following Fatal Fourth of July Boat Collision on Herrington Lake

LEXINGTON, Ky., July 13, 2026 – Peterson Law and Whiteford Taylor & Preston announce they have been retained to represent the family of Nazar Svintozelskiy, following the July 4, 2026, boat collision on Herrington Lake in Mercer County that claimed one life and injured several others.

Nazar Svintozelskiy, 25, of Jessamine County, died in the collision. He was laid to rest earlier today. His father, Alex, remains in critical condition and is currently unresponsive. Other family members on the boat suffered serious injuries. The incident remains under active investigation by the Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife Resources and the Commonwealth Attorney’s office.
